What Is Better, Being A Web Developer Or A Software Engineer?

Web Developer vs. Sofware Engineer

“Developer” and “Software Engineer” mean the same thing in this industry.  Most “software” our company develops interfaces with the web in some form or fashion. Therefore, our “engineers” are both “web developers” and “software engineers.”  When discussing roles for a project, the titles themselves don’t hold much weight.

You will build a product or provide a service using programming languages. Programming languages follow the same principles of variables, functions, arrays, lists, etc.  The real difference comes in the form of architecture.  Where do you offload your data? Or storage?  How much memory to allocate?  These are the key differences between the two very similar professions. If you look close enough, you may be able to tell the difference.

A sound “software engineer” and “web developer” will be identical.  They understand all the tools and only use the right tools for the job.
